St. Francis Center Facilities

The St. Francis Center is located in a Redwood City neighborhood where we are surrounded by the individuals and families who need our services. We currently operate out of three buildings on adjacent lots and we also lease a lot across the street for our community garden.
La Casa (1)
Our main facility at 151 Buckingham houses storage facilities for our food, clothing and holiday toy “re-homing” services. Donated items are delivered to the first floor of this facility and then organized for redistribution to our clients. The Holy Family School is located on the second floor of La Casa, along with a computer lab and a classroom for adult education classes. Conference rooms and administrative offices are also located on the second floor. The third floor of La Casa provides a home to low-income families in three separate rental apartments.
La Casita (2)
Initially used to house our staff and administration, La Casita has recently been completely remodeled and is now a single-family low-income rental unit.
St. Clare Apartments (3)
A 24-unit apartment building, located around the corner from La Casa. The St. Clare provides a safe and clean living environment for low-income families. Tenants can take advantage of open air patios and a barbeque area as well as sport court where children can play. The goal of the St. Clare is to help families become financially stable so they can relocate, making room for a new family.
Holy Ground of Guadalupe Community Center Garden (4)
In 2001, we rehabilitated an empty lot that was being used as a community dump into a vegetable and flower garden for our clients. Located across the street from La Casa, the community garden features 23 raised planting beds and a beautiful mosaic of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
