St. Francis Center’s Legacy of Affordable Housing
To mark our forty-year milestone, we’ve launched The Legacy of 40 Fund—a bold, forward-looking campaign to raise $300,000 to support our most urgent needs in 2026.
In celebration of Affordable Housing Month, The Legacy of 40 Fund is focusing on raising money to build our Housing Acquisition Fund and to support the maintenance and upkeep of our affordable housing units.
Every gift—big or small—helps the St. Francis Center reach its 40th Anniversary goal of raising $300,000 to keep us moving forward for years to come.

St. Clare Apartments, circa 2000 — the first of many apartment buildings purchased, renovated, & converted to affordable housing by St. Francis Center in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood of Redwood City. The St. Clare stands beside La Casita, the small cottage where St. Francis Center’s mission began in 1986.
I love this historical photo because it reminds me of the enduring legacy of St. Francis Center’s mission and the lasting impact of providing safe, stable, and affordable homes for those who need them most.
As Affordable Housing Month comes to a close, I invite you to learn more about our Affordable Housing Program and the many lives it continues to touch.
