St. Francis Center’s commitment to affordable housing in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood of Redwood City is made possible by partnerships rooted in care, professionalism, and community spirit. A cornerstone of this work is our collaboration with Prodesse Property Group, led by Lynn and Michael Pierce. Their expert leadership and attention to residents’ needs ensure that St. Francis Center’s 267 homes are managed with empathy and accountability. The daily efforts of the property management team—Julio, Jackie, Dulce, Lulu, Alma, and Perla—alongside maintenance technicians Jose, Jaime, and Martin —mean that families have not just apartments but true homes they can count on.
Behind this mission is a decades-long vision, started by Sr. Monica and expanded by Sr. Christina, who recognized the threat of displacement for working families, seniors, and individuals. By preserving Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH), St. Francis Center enables low-income families—many of whom are essential workers, including caregivers, childcare providers, and service employees—to remain in the communities they work.
With steadfast support from board members like Sue Mitchell and the generosity of local donors, St. Francis Center continues to provide stability and opportunity for hundreds of families. As a resident shared, “This home has given us stability and hope.” The enduring power of these partnerships ensures that Redwood City remains a place where everyone can have a safe, secure place to call home.
