KTVU News reported on the “Nuns on the Bus ‘Vote Our Future’ Tour,” which stopped at St. Francis Center in Redwood City on October 17.
Led by NETWORK Advocates, a Catholic Social Justice nonprofit, the two-and-a-half-week, nonpartisan tour encouraged multi-issue voting and a commitment to policies supporting human dignity, the common good, and an inclusive democracy.
The press conference highlighted the need for Catholics and people of goodwill to take a proactive role in voting, inspired by Pope Francis’s call for a future that includes everyone. NETWORK, which has been active since 1972, has focused on educating and advocating for social justice and voter awareness. Through this initiative, the group sought to inspire attendees to cast their votes in favor of a diverse, equitable society without aligning with any specific candidates or parties.
