Special thanks to Stanford Health Care for donating used furniture for the Case de Sobrato patio. We are also grateful to the volunteer teams from Box.com and Glenn Haegele and his friends for their hard work cleaning and varnishing it. Their collective generosity and efforts have transformed a large, previously unused patio into a warm, welcoming space for residents to enjoy.

After giving Lily’s Bilingual Family Daycare a fresh new look with a fresh coat of paint last month, the volunteers from Rebuilding Together Peninsula returned with another incredible surprise. This time, they transformed the daycare’s kitchen with a brand-new renovation, creating a safer, more functional, and welcoming space for the children and families who rely on the center every day. The upgraded kitchen will help support daily meal preparation, improve efficiency for caregivers, and enhance the overall environment where young children learn, grow, and thrive. It’s another example of how community partnerships and dedicated volunteers can make a lasting impact on local organizations serving families.

For Volunteer Appreciation Month, we celebrated over 50 staff, board, supporters, and volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch and Paint at St. Denis in Menlo Park. This event honors the dedication of our volunteers, who help our community thrive.
St. Francis Center’s 175 volunteers contribute 18,000 hours annually, providing vital services such as food, clothing, education, and housing to underserved families.
We deeply thank our volunteers, the backbone of our community, for their compassion and the joy they bring to the families we serve.
Let’s give a big ol’ thank you to our AmeriCorps Volunteer, Yahaira Vasquez, for pulling this whole thing together—and hats off to Chef Lesla for the delicious food!
