Project Description
A PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMILIES
Holy Family School is a K–8 microschool with two classrooms focused on transformational education for students and their families. Teachers stay with each cohort for 3–4 years, building strong bonds and deep understanding. Parents attend one day a week to pursue goals like learning English, earning a GED, or advancing careers, supported by one-on-one volunteer tutors. These long-term partnerships empower parents and can transform their family’s future.
Holy Family School continues to have impressive results and most of our graduates have been offered continued education in other private schools at no cost to their families. 29 students in two grades make up the current student body of Holy Family School and these students continue their education here through 8th grade. The children are from very low-income immigrant families and receive a quality education with the core components of reading, spelling, math, science, geography, social studies, and technology as well as enrichment opportunities in faith, music, dance and art.
PARENT EMPOWERMENT
This is designed for parents of students attending Holy Family School. Some parents may have no formal education when they start, but their experience inspires them to pursue further education. Through the program, parents have made significant progress in their English skills, completed GEDs, earned certificates, enrolled in college classes, and achieved U.S. citizenship. Parents’ participation guarantees that their children attend Holy Family School tuition-free.
